Colloquium of Law Professors

Shoschana Zusman is a professional concerned for the improvement of teaching Law in Peru. For that purpose, in July 2004, she, together with Jorge Avendaño, former dean of the Universidad Catolica Law Faculty organized the First Colloquium on Law Teaching, which gathered a group of professors from the Law School of the Universidad Catolica to discuss core issues related to the type of attorney that is expected to be prepared and the methodology of education. Topics such as “respect”, “inclusion”, “context” and “method” were matter of the discussions. A video entitled “Students Talking about their Professors” was designed and produced especially for this Colloquium, in which, following the teaching model used by some US universities, students answer two concrete questions: What experience has enhanced your learning? and, What experience has threatened your learning?.
